More Happy Birthdays!

So it's MAY!.... and that means my son's birthday!  He now 8 years old! :)

He's really into "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books, so I decided to do a cake with some of the characters.

Drawing these characters on paper was much easier than drawing with buttercream icing!

It was even tougher writing the script.

Rowley: Hey man! It's Jaylen's birthday.

Greg: GASP! Really?

Just to add some color, insisted by my mom. Thanks mom! :)

My bud really enjoyed it...so I'm happy! (everyone else did too!)

Not only was it my son's birthday, but it was also my cousin Alex's birthday as well.

His mom...my aunt :)... requested an ice cream cake.  I've never done one before, but she had faith in me!

Here's a picture of it in the freezer...where I iced and decorated it. lol.

I think it was a little too warm in the kitchen from all of the other baking to be icing an ice cream cake. :)

Happy Birthday Alex.... I would have done more with the decorations if i wasn't afraid of it melting again...lol

I'm glad everyone enjoyed it! Wish I could have gotten a picture of the slice, but I think i will try to make another one! :)

Here's the strawberry inspired cake!... I'm just mad I didn't get a picture of it cut! :( But it was two layer white cake with strawberry swirls with strawberry jam in the middle and buttercream icing! :)



 

Accented it with mini strawberry cupcakes with grass and berries. :)

Mary Payne turned 92!  But she's "Still A Spring Chicken"! (which is written around the cake)

I must say it was a lot of fun making these....a lot of work, but a lot of fun!
